LATENT PROFILE ANALYSIS OF TEACHERS' DIGITAL COMPETENCE AT A BRAZILIAN FEDERAL UNIVERSITY: AN APPLICATION OF THE DIGCOMPEDU CHECK-IN

Abstract

This study applied Latent Profile Analysis to 257 faculty members at a Brazilian federal university, aiming to identify empirical profiles of teachers' digital competence based on the DigCompEdu Check-in instrument. The analysis identified three hierarchical profiles: Beginner (28.4%), Integrator (50.6%), and Pioneer (21.0%). The profiles differ in overall proficiency level and share a weakness in the Digital Assessment area, even among advanced teachers. The findings offer a transferable analytical model for institutional diagnosis and for continuing education sensitive to faculty heterogeneity.
